The Yearlings
Highway Dancing

Released Monday 9th August 2010

Adelaide roots/alt country duo The Yearlings release their fourth studio album titled 'Sweet Runaway' (out on Mixmasters via Vitamin Records) on 9th of August.

From the very first note, this twelve track CD emits a strong sense of warm calm that embraces you like a long lost friend. They have a command and maturity to their musical
compositions that most outfits can merely yearn for. The fact is instantly apparent whilst listening to their music that Robyn Chalklen and Chris Parkinson have been writing and performing together for nine years ever since their first encounter at The
Tamworth Country Music Festival. Their chemistry is remarkable, and like a fine wine, their musical competency has matured impressively on the vine.

Together Robyn and Chris combine a sunset voice and a heart wood guitar to make a river of sound that winds its way past the hustle and flows back into the good old
country of this land. Softer'n a rabbit sheltrin in a holler, sweet harmonies and rich tremolo electric guitar, aged. Old. Just the right amount of haunting.

The Yearlings songs rock, sad and slow . . . like a chair on an old wooden porch.
After years of touring, numerous music festival appearances, having their music selected for TV series (Claudia Karvan’s Love My Way), and recording with some of the heavy weights of American Country such as legendary performer/producer, Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Levon Helm), and members of NYC roots band Ollabelle,

The Yearlings continue to show the depth and maturity of their music with a new set of songs that reach deep into the heartland of their home country and give new voice to the love and loss of the Never Never.
