In 2006, Sydney’s Liz Martin released her stunning debut album, Beneath the Stars, to much critical acclaim throughout Australia. Recorded over 2 years and entirely self-directed, Beneath the Stars is a unique and beautiful recording, which travels a range of musical styles from electronica to acoustic, pop to blues.
Now, having performed across Australia alongside the likes of Sigur Ros, Silverchair, and The Black Keys, as well as receiving a gold record for her collaborative work with Paul Mac and members of Silverchair, Liz Martin and long-time collaborator, Michael Bridges, have crafted a new EP, Night Music.
Featuring Liz Martin on vocals and guitar and Michael Bridges on violin and musical saw, they have created a spacious, haunting quality of sound in the tradition of fellow Australians The Dirty Three, Nick Cave and The Triffids.
